Whether you’re wrapping gifts, sealing envelopes or simply sticking things together, taping is much easier when you can do it one-handed.

Scotch™ dispensers for tape come in a wide range of sizes, designs and colours, so you can always find the one that matches your style. Our range includes standard black desktop sticky tape dispensers, as well as clip and twist dispensers that clip to the edge of a desk. Additionally, there are novelty tape dispensers in various animal shapes, along with cute tape dispensers available in sleek designs or in soft, pastel colours.

As well as weighted desktop tape dispensers, we also provide lightweight handheld tape dispensers which are included with our clear tapes, unless buying a refill pack. These dispensers, similar to desktop tape dispensers, are refillable with all Scotch® clear tapes with a 1” (2.54cm) core.

To make shipping and mailing applications easy, we also offer specially designed Pistol Grip Dispensers – extra-large handheld tape holders designed for our packaging tapes.

Scotch™ Tape Dispenser FAQ’s

Will all Scotch® tape products fit any Scotch™ tape dispenser?
Scotch™ desktop tape dispensers are designed for tapes with a 1'' (2.54 cm) core, which makes them compatible with all Scotch® clear tapes. They're not compatible with our packaging tapes, as these tapes have a larger core and their own larger tape holders.
Are there tape dispensers with eco-friendly or recyclable attributes available?
All Scotch™ tape dispensers are designed to be refilled and reused for as long as possible to help you reduce waste. When your dispenser runs out of tape, simply buy a refill pack of whichever clear tape you need.

Our newest option is the Scotch® Stainless Steel Dispenser. This metal tape dispenser is designed to be a permanent replacement for plastic dispensers. It's built to last project after project and refilled with our Scotch® Magic™ 66% Plant-Based Adhesive Tape.
Are there decorative or themed tape dispensers available?
Yes! There’s a huge range of different tape holders available, from cute tape dispensers in animal shapes to vibrant patterns that can bring some colour to your desktop. For those who prefer to keep it understated, we also have dispensers in standard colours, so there’s always an option no matter what you prefer. Are there compact or travel-sized tape dispensers available?
Yes, we have a wide range of compact sticky tape dispensers that are lightweight and can fit into a small bag easily. They’re compatible with all our clear tapes, so you can reuse them whenever your tape runs out. See our full range of clear tapes that come with handheld dispensers.
Is the dispenser refillable, or is it designed for single use?
All Scotch™ tape dispensers are designed to be refillable and reusable, helping you avoid unnecessary plastic waste. Simply purchase a refill pack for any same-size tape when your dispenser needs refilling.
How to load tape dispenser?
Our Scotch™ Tape Dispensers are simple to refill. Different designs have different refill methods. Many sticky tape dispensers have a spool that can simply be taken out. The new tape core is then added onto the spool and slotted back into the dispenser. Some dispensers have a convenient swing-out tape hub that ensures easy refilling when the sticky tape roll runs out.

In terms of packaging tape holders, the old tape core should first be removed. The new roll of tape should be placed on the large roller and pressed all the way down, ensuring the sticky side faces down when unrolled. The tape should then be pulled over the guide bar near the handle and under the smaller roller. Some packaging dispensers have a spring-loaded bar here. If so, it should be held back so that the tape can pass through. Finally, the tape should be pulled against the serrated edge.
