Doing More With Less
Reduce Our Use of Virgin Fossil-Based Plastic
That’s why we are working to reduce virgin plastic in selected Scotch™ tapes and dispensers in two ways: reducing plastic in specific components and using recycled plastic where feasible:
- Our red Scotch™ Packaging tape dispensers are made with 80% recycled plastic by weight.
- Our Scotch® Magic™ Tape Made with 66% Plant-Based Adhesive features an adhesive containing 66% plant-based material by weight, a core made with 98% recycled plastic by weight, and a dispenser whose plastic components are made with 100% recycled plastic.

Expanding Our Paper-Based Alternatives
From packaging tape to protective fillers, we are working to develop more sustainable ways to help you ship and protect what’s most important to you. Our paper-based mailing and packing products offer paper-based alternatives to selected traditional plastic mailing supplies:
- Scotch® Box Lock™ Paper Tape is recyclable with cardboard boxes through standard paper recycling systems where local collection is available.
